Many of you have not had the chance to meet Will and Eryn Cole. This wonderful couple from South Carolina moved all the way to Anchorage, Alaska, to help out with True North Church, our partnership. Our church has been financially supporting them for over a year now.
They are now pregnant and expecting within a couple of months! We are about to send a team there to Anchorage in a couple of weeks, and we would like to collect some money for them to be a blessing in their lives. If you would be willing to give a little bit to Will & Eryn, please, bring it to church and give it to me (Scott) or you can go to our GIVE page on our website in order to pay via PayPal (just put in the notes that the gift is to go to Will & Eryn Cole in Alaska).
If you have never heard of Women on Mission (WMU), then you are missing out on a fantastic organization. I really got to know them when we went on the mission field and discovered that they provide all of our missionaries with vital water filters. It was such a blessing! Not only did they give us these filters, but I was consistently getting emails asking if they could pray for us.
I’d like to invite all of our ladies at Grand to a special WMU meeting that is being held this Thursday, March 6, at 10:30am in Room 119 across from the Small Dining Room. During this meeting, Earlene Toon (one of our BEST!), will be leading a study on North American Missions. Afterwards everyone will share in a potluck luncheon.
We have been asked to pray for one of our partners in Colombia. Will you please lift them up? Here is his note…
Please lift us up as I will be traveling up to T-town with a BCM group from the University of Memphis this weekend. Please lift up each of us – Jeff, Cory, Ryan, Danny, and myself as we travel. We will have opportunities to meet leaders from neighboring villages as all will be coming in to vote. Pr*y that this opportunity would allow us to meet and gain the confidence of these leaders and receive an invitation to their village in the future. Thanks guys!
I wanted to let you know that this Monday, March 3, at 6:30pm we will be hosting the Perspectives Class in the Refuge on 40th Street. If you have never been, I would like to invite you to come this Monday! Everyone is welcome to come to one FREE class. Our speaker this week is Jamie Zumwalt. Jamie has an incredible testimony and shares that as she weaves it through the stories of past missionaries. You will love to hear her. I think our ladies will especially like her.
Beau Barrera, the leader of our Welcoming Ministry, has discovered a class on campus. This looks like a great opportunity and is FREE. Check it out…
We have an exciting opportunity for us at the UAFS campus. Every Thursday from 2-3 pm, in Holt Room 108, a FREE class is offered to learn more about the Chinese language and the Chinese culture!! I am super excited to tell you guys as much as I am to get involved and learn. What a great way to expand our world view and learn about a country that is growing rapidly in regards to the name of Jesus. I pray most of you can make it at least one time and just experience the class. I hope to attend and build relationships with Steve Li, who will be teaching, and Ann-Gee Lee, who coordinated the event. That way maybe they would be willing to share with us at our church how to relate to Chinese students and the Chinese culture. Once again, this is an awesome opportunity I stumbled upon and encourage anyone and everyone to attend if possible. We will discuss this class in our next meeting held in March.
Thanks guys and have a great day,
For more information about the class, you can go here.
We have been asked to let you know about this special request for a missionary needed in Uganda. If you have any questions, you can send me an email (email@example.com). Here’s the request…
Greetings from Uganda,There is now a volunteer request at the IMB for an experienced medical professional (RN, NP, PA, or MD) to come and work in the medical clinic of Uganda Baptist Seminary while we (Jack and Evelyn Frost) are on STAS/furlough this summer. The dates the volunteer is needed are May 12 to Aug 30, 2014. Either a single or a couple can come. If a couple comes, the non-medical spouse could teach English, theology, computer, work in the library, or do maintenance, etc. depending on skills and qualifications. I would appreciate your letting people know of this opportunity to serve. Anyone interested can contact the IMB volunteer department or me for further information. The volunteer job request number is 109369 and the field tracking number is VDRJ385.
We depart Uganda on May 23, and I hope to overlap with the volunteer for at least a week to give orientation to the clinic and medical services/resources in town.We have from 90 to 140 students from all over East Africa on campus for 3 to 4 weeks each month, and we REALLY need someone to help provide medical care for them while they are studying. Thanks for your help in spreading the word and for praying that God will provide someone to serve.Blessings,Evelyn Frost
We are heading back to Wyoming this year. This is always a great trip, and it fits anybody that wants to go, including families with young kids! The dates for this trip will be July 18-26. We will be working on the Wind River Indian Reservation and staying in Riverton. The deadline to sign up for this trip and pay a $100 per person deposit is March 16. If you would like more information, I have a pdf information sheet that details everything. Send me an email to request one or to ask any questions.
UPDATE – (April 18) – We have started a new fundraising site for this trip. We know many of you could never go on a trip like this, but your part in doing missions might be to give. Please know that no gift is insignificant. You can check out our fundraising site by clicking HERE. We are also trying to gather items that the families have requested us to bring. If you would like to purchase some items for the trip and bring them to the office in the next couple of weeks, you can go HERE to sign up.
UPDATE – This trip has been filled! (3-11)
We are going on a trip to a country in Central Asia May 6-15. The purpose of this trip is to encourage our workers there. We currently have myself and two young, ladies going. We have room for one more! The approximate cost for this trip is $2300 depending on the airline ticket prices. Please be in prayer about this trip.
This trip is definitely not for the faint of heart as it requires some difficult travel to get to. The flights are very long and the roads are tough. At the end is a beautiful valley in which there are very few believers at all. This valley needs more light! Will you consider going on this incredible journey? Contact Scott Ward for more information.
We will be taking a mission trip to Colombia April 8-16. Our purpose in going is to lead our partners there in a Prayer Retreat, encourage them, and see their work. This is one of my favorite trips to go on. The families that live and work there are fantastic!
The cost of this trip is normally around $1800, but it depends on the airline tickets as always. I have one couple going with me and would love to find one more couple who would like to go. If you need more information, don’t hesitate to contact me.
