A Women’s Event to Pray for Our Missionaries
Sunday May, 31   |   2pm-3pm

From our Mission Pastor’s wife, Jennifer Ward:

I, personally, have been so burdened for our missionaries and our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world, especially during this time. I know many of you have been also. They are struggling in many of the same ways that we are but with additional burdens.

  • We have missionaries in Central Asia that are feeling “trapped.” The borders and airports are closed. They don’t have decent medical care if one of their own children has a medical emergency.
  • We have fellows believers in Christ who have been dealing with flooding, watching people go hungry, and even going hungry themselves because there are no jobs available.
  • We have brothers and sisters in Christ that are watching people die, just because there is no medical care to help where they live.
  • We have believers being persecuted for their faith.

But, on the positive side, unbelievers are more open to hearing about the gospel. Our missionaries need strength, encouragement, and boldness to more openly share the gospel, even if it’s not the safest thing to do.

Our missionaries living in different countries are dealing with all the stresses we are, but without family close by to share the burden.

What can we do? We can’t physically go there right now and help. How can we help? We can share their burden in an amazing way… in a way that God designed: PRAYER!

The Bible clearly teaches that we are to love our brothers and sisters in Christ. We are to serve each other. We are to share each other’s burdens. I, personally, have lived on the other side of the world during some very traumatic circumstances. I am so thankful for my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ who chose to share that burden for us by praying with us and watching God do amazing things through their obedience.

In 2 Corinthians 1:3-11 it talks about this very thing. These verses talk about how just as He comforts us in our afflictions and shares in our sufferings, we should do this for each other in prayer.

Galatians 6:2: “Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you fulfill the law of Christ.”

Val Oliver and I would like to invite women to come join us in a special prayer time for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are living on the front lines, sharing the gospel.

Mark your calendar for next Sunday, May 31st, 2:00-3:00 pm. The location is available on our private GABC Missions Facebook Group.
