We want to encourage all of our members to come out to a special Law Enforcement Memorial Service to show support to our communities’ police officers and to remember those who have died in the line of service and support their families. This is an annual, national event that will take place out in front of the Sebastian County Courthouse at 10am. Our pastor will be praying at the event, and many different departments from all over the River Valley will be in attendance.
When talking to our officers, we discovered that very few people from the community come to this event. A number of our staff went last year, and it was very poorly attended. We know that it will be greatly appreciated if we, as a church, come out in force to show our support at this event that means a lot to all of the officers in the area. It really is a wonderful event, and it doesn’t last very long.
Following this event in the Community Room of the Fort Smith Police Station right next door, we will be hosting a lunch for all of the officers involved. We will be posting soon an online sign up sheet where you will be able to sign up to serve and/or to bring a food item.
