Some exciting things are happening with our partnership in Dallas, Texas, working with refugees. Firstly, we will be taking a weekend trip there March 4-6. We will be spending the weekend working with First Bhutanese Baptist Church, helping them to reach out to newly arrived refugees. We will be hosting an informational meeting for this trip on February 21 immediately following the worship service in Room 110. For more information, contact our MPA Leader, Norma Thompson.
The second exciting thing is that we have a new young couple moving to live among the refugees. Stephen Crosson served as the youth pastor at Trinity Baptist Church in Alma. He and his wife, Kelsey, attended our Perspectives Class last year. Through the class, they learned about our work in Dallas and even went on a trip with us. God used those things to lead them to move there to work with the refugees full-time. They are finishing up their fund-raising and waiting on their apartment to be finished. They plan to be down there in the next couple of weeks. They are going with a mission sending agency called Forefront Experience. If you would like to be on their support team by praying and/or giving financially, please, contact our Mission Pastor, Scott Ward.
